Conservative Actors – Stand Up & Be Heard

A list of the top 25 actors was found here (broken link) at one time but apparently the site no longer exists. After doing a google search, I found another site that somehow saved the info from the original site before it disappeared… it is found HERE. (broken link) I don’t know how accurate the list is nor how long ago it was compiled. I am interested in determining how many others should be placed on it… definitely Jon Voight (broken link).

Per the original website, the list below is in order of the most conservative to the least conservative based upon things they have said and money they have donated (or not donated). What would be great? If they would make a stand instead of remaining silent and letting us assume they are all liberal… since that is the stereotype we place them into.

Top 25: Ben Stein; Chuck Norris; Sylvester Stallone; Pat Boone; Wayne Newton; Kelsey Grammer; Arnold Schwarzenegger; Charlton Heston; Tom Selleck; James Caviezel; Kurt Russell; Drew Carey; Tony Danza; Robert Duvall; Clint Eastwood; Dennis Hopper; Heather Locklear; Rip Torn; James Woods; Stephen Baldwin; Lara Flynn Boyle; Bo Derek; Sarah Michelle Gellar; Mel Gibson; Angie Harmon

Honorable Mentions: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; Freddie Prinze Jr.; Adam Sandler; Ron Silver; Fred Thompson; Vince Vaughn; Bob Barker; Ernes Borgnine; Jule Bowen; Dean Cain; Shannen Doherty; Bruce Willis.

Article: Hollywood’s conservative underground: ‘Friends of Abe” group meets quietly

Excerpt from article above:

Participants said Friends of Abe is not partisan, but rather functions as a support group where Republicans, Democrats and independents alike can discuss issues they care about. And the low-key gatherings at restaurants and homes have given conservatives a safe place to meet and express their views, they added.

“A Friend of Abe is someone who has reverence for those who serve in our military and believes that American liberal democracy is a unique success, different from others, and it’s worthy of the respect of our popular culture … of Hollywood in particular,” said screenwriter Lionel Chetwynd, who helped organize Friends of Abe luncheons when they began four years ago.

Continued…

Craig Haffner, a producer who also attended the gatherings, said Friends of Abe is “not a political action group; people are gravitating to it because they love their country.” While the group is not organizing any political activities, some of its members are taking action into their own hands.

Actor Jon Voight, Mr. Boone, Mr. Chetwynd and Mr. Haffner have stepped forward and actively campaigned for Mr. McCain’s presidential bid. Mr. Boone said he talked to McCain campaign staffers last week about how he and other stars can help. Supporters now are assembling a formal organization for Mr. McCain in Hollywood, a few of the leaders said.

Continued from article…

David Horowitz, another Hollywood conservative and founder of the Los Angeles-based Center for the Study of Popular Culture, said the group is serving a good purpose but he worries its members won’t be aggressive enough.

“There’s a kind of … intellectual terror in this town. People are terrorized; they’re afraid to say what they think. So what Gary is doing to provide aid and comfort to its victims is admirable, and I applaud him for it,” he said. “But my concern is it’s not going to be much more than that.”

Conservative actors… stand up and be heard. If several of you stick up for what you believe in, then there will be a lot less backlash to feel (and you will have plenty of support out here in the “real world”). The problem is there are so little that let their beliefs and thoughts become public. Meeting privately is a start but doing it as a social gathering will not help anyone out here >waves< who wonders if Hollywood is just a bunch of nut jobs who want the country to turn to socialism. … and if you think working in Hollywood is hard now… you just wait until you work under a socialist thumb.

The Political Compass

Not being sure “what I am” led me to a site my son used in his recent economics class called The Political Compass. I thought I would mess around with it and here’s what it came up with.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 3.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.05

I’m still not really sure what this means… but looking at the chart they had back in April 2008 showing the candidates; I’m really even more confused about where in the world people stand politically. I don’t consider Obama to be on the Right…

Excerpt from the site:

When examining the chart it’s important to note that although most of the
candidates seem quite different, in substance they occupy a relatively
restricted area within the universal political spectrum. Democracies with a
system of proportional representation give expression to a wider range of
political views. While Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader are depicted on the
extreme left in an American context, they would simply be mainstream social
democrats within the wider political landscape of Europe. Similarly, Hillary
Clinton is popularly perceived as a leftist in the United States while in any
other western democracy her record is that of a mainstream conservative.

Wow… who would have ever thought Hilary was considered a mainstream conservative anywhere.

Chinese Olympians for 2008 – How old are they?

Alright… alright… let’s talk about the controversy about “age”.

I’ve been reading articles here and there about everyone wondering if the Chinese girls are all going to turn at least 16 this year. Lately there has come forth a little more eyebrow raising with our friend on Google called “cache”. Cache is a wonderful feature (or a detrimental one) because it can show what a website looked like BEFORE it was changed. For views of cached information on this, view this blog: Gateway Pundit: China Busted

Asians often do look younger than other people from other nationalities. I have a Korean friend whom I thought was about eight years younger than me… turns out she’s two years older; and I already don’t look as old as I am.

But even with that fact in mind, the girls in question (YANG Yilin: website states she was born in 1992 but if you view cached information, the year is 1993) looks to be about 12 years old for ANY nationality. Yang is not turning 16 this month… she’s turning 15. That being said, she barely looks her current age of 14. So with that knowledge, one could say she really could be 16 if she looks 12 and is actually 15. Did you follow any of that? It’s definitely confusing.

Another girl (He Kexin) has a cache out there that indicates she is a year younger than we are being told she is. Again… go here for more on that: Gateway Pundit: China Busted

I had thought of something earlier… what are the odds that some of these girl really think they are going to turn 16. If they believe they are older than they really are… that we be very convincing if questioned. Of course, if they really ARE turning 16… hello… that would be embarrassing for all of us. On the other hand… they could very well know they are not old enough and that would make them just as guilty.

I have a very hard time believing that everyone made innocent mistakes. Her parents, trainers, team mates, family, those she lives with… someone knew her real age and was either involved in the cover-up or too afraid to say anything. And when a person says “they were afraid to say anything for fear of their government”… people roll their eyes and say things like “that only happens in the movies”. Really? Interesting how people can say that with a straight face.

The question is… how would we, the American people, feel about our team suddenly holding the gold due to a disqualification. What I want to see happen is for them to be embarrassed… to apologize… and then have to live with the fact that every country will be leery of them in the future. I would find it more shameful for them realizing everyone knows they cheat.

It’s not a matter of ripping the gold out of their hands in order to give it to our girls… silver is fantastic… it’s a matter of going by the rules set forth and agreed upon by every nation and sticking with them even if that means you miss out on the medal you want. These girls are Olympians because their government told them they would be no matter what they wanted from life. Their families push them to remain there no matter what they want from life now (just look into the lives of at least one of their divers and one of their gymnasts… they begged to go on with something else). It is a status symbol… a way of having your child pull the family out of the poverty and giving the family name honor. Okay… I can see how that would be appealing… but when does a life become it’s own destiny and not that of their government.

My favorite picture out there… four girls doing a little shopping and letting their smiles peak out; right here it seems their ages shine right on through their tough Olypian souls. The girls mentioned above are shown here on the far left. Personally, I think the girls on the right look even younger.

Jon Voight – A Beacon in the Darkness

Today’s journey into politics began with my daily email from Glenn Beck. Inside was a link to an interview Glenn had with Jon Voight. Mr. Voight wrote an article for The Washington Times called VOIGHT: My concerns for America.

Excerpt from Glenn’s interview:

VOIGHT: You know something, I’ve been kind of I haven’t been as aggressive perhaps as I should have been in regard to this, you know, intimidation because it is a very pernicious act and it seems like one of the reasons why I wrote the article was because nobody knows about Michelle Obama. The people who are supporting him and cheering him, you know. If you ask them why they are voting for him, you don’t get very, you know, very substantive answers.

GLENN: Yeah.

VOIGHT: You get, well, he’s a nice looking fellow, I like the way he talks, he’s I like change, I want change. They have no idea what the change is that this fellow is going to usher in.

GLENN: Right.

VOIGHT: And he helps them. Obama helps these people by saying very vague things. Nothing that they can put their finger on. He says things like, he said during one of his speeches he said I don’t want you to just believe in me. I want you to believe in your own dreams. Well, what does that mean? It means, of course, that I’m anything you want me to be. But on the other side there’s an agenda that he has that is very clear and it’s and if you look into his background, you can see very clearly the agenda. And as you mentioned, when I say socialism, all those things you mentioned are part of the package, of course, if Obama becomes President. So they are trying to keep away from any understanding of what he’s going to do. And the way they do it is by cutting any kind of inquiry off with this kind of intimidation. So it’s a real you know, it’s a really very disturbing package that we’re looking at here.

GLENN: Jon, you were if I’m not mistaken, weren’t you an antiwar activist back in the Sixties?

VOIGHT: I was. I was caught up in that movement as most people were.

GLENN: Sure.

VOIGHT: And probably because of that, I see a little bit more clearly now what’s going on.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.

After reading Mr. Voight’s article, I had to create an account on The Washington Times in order to comment. My comment to him is below (although, I don’t know how much time he has to actually read all that is there or will be there after Glenn’s interview).

By: me
I too must thank you for this article. Discussions of Obama often bring up socialism… whether it be on-line, at home or on the streets. For the most part, I think a lot of people don’t understand socialism and often think it will be an answer to their problems… an easy out, if you will. Just look at all of the things they won’t have to worry about any more… but just look at all of the things they won’t have any more. Not necessarily physical or monetary things… but freedom to be what you want without first having to get permission.

I read comments wherein people think there’s no way Obama is leading us to socialism… but if they took the time to look at the definition and study Marxism, they would indeed see a very strong similarity. Socialism leads into communism… a little at a time until eventually you find you’re right in the middle of a place without any freedoms… until one day people rise up to take down the government and turn to capitalism.

We are the United States of America… once you have a taste and a feel of freedom, it’s hard to give it up. But if we do not teach our children and our young adults the difference between what they have now and what they won’t have later… we will fall into this horrible place called socialism. Truly, we have become a society that takes much for granted and we cry for more when we have so much.

I read people’s comments on-line every day about how horrible it is in America and how we’re falling apart. I asked one person just how bad he had it since he clearly had a computer in which to make his opinion known… but even computers seem to be like owning a toothbrush… it just IS.

August 12, 2008 at 11:25 p.m.

I have been met with much anger by liberals (whether or not they call themselves that) who come up against my thoughts. I am called an idiot or other such “nice names” and then… if I’m lucky… after hearing that I’m not going to lash back at them, it calms down a bit… until the next outburst. Truly, this does come more from the younger generation than the older generation. I think it is based on how easily a person can be swayed to the point of view of another when the alternative is to be an outcast. If Jane thinks Bob is a moron for thinking one way and if she makes a big enough stir with the crowd, eventually Bob will fall to her way of thinking just to be in favor of the crowd. Don’t get me wrong… I am not pointing fingers at others without first experiencing those same events.

My son has brought home many issues from school either from the teacher or the other students and we’ve almost bordered on arguing just because he felt so passionate about an issue. As his parents, we do not disallow such passion but we won’t roll over just to agree with his thoughts. We have learned to discuss things logically and as adults without getting mad at each other. We still get frustrated from time to time but here’s what usually happens. He has one point of view and we have another. The difference is that we also have knowledge of his point of view before we talk about it because we have an open mind and try to learn as much as we can. He on the other hand has only heard one point of view from the school and that is it until we begin our discussion. He has learned to talk to us to gather more information and then decide for himself… I do not insist he takes my side but I do insist he gets the WHOLE story.

My issue is this… the teachers push their ideas on the students without giving them the WHOLE book of information. It would be like reading a novel with only the “even” numbered chapters. You might be able to get the idea of the story but you won’t really know what happened. Then, when you discuss the story with someone who only had the “odd” numbered chapters, it’s no wonder an argument flares and both parties are standing there screaming that they know how the story goes… THEY DO know the story… based on the knowledge they have; and both only have half a story.

The best thing to do is for both parties to pool their chapters together to form the ENTIRE STORY… once that is done, the answers are obvious. Unfortunately, so many of us don’t realize we only have half a story and insist we know everything. I’m beginning to think that some people are burning certain chapters to keep people in the dark.

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Why did the chicken cross the road?

GRANDPA:
In my day we didn’t ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us
the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY:
To die in the rain. Alone.

BARBARA WALTERS:
Isn’t that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell,
for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case
of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken
wanted CHANGE!

JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

JOHN MC CAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need
to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other
side of the road.

ALBERT EINSTEIN:
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the
road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure — right from
Day One! — that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves
to cross the road. But then, this really isn’t about me…….

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to
know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either
against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DR SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken
crossed the road, but why it crossed I’ve not been told.

DR. PHIL:
The problem we have here is that this chicken won’t realize that he must
first deal with the problem on ‘THIS’ side of the road before it goes after
the problem on the ‘OTHER SIDE’ of the road. What we need to do is help
him realize how stupid he’s acting by not taking on his ‘CURRENT’ problems
before adding ‘NEW’ problems.

BILL CLINTON:
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

OPRAH:
Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he
wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from
his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I’m going to give this chicken
a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the
rest of the chickens.

ARISTOTLE:
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

AL GORE:
I invented the chicken!

Michael Phelp’s Gold Medal News

I was watching the Olympics yesterday and saw Michael Phelp’s earn his first medal of 2008… he was thrilled and excited. Later I watched as he received his gold medal and then how the Chinese completely butchered our National Anthem. They didn’t start it at the beginning of the anthem and then the whole thing sounded odd… but it was the ending that raised eyebrows. Right when the song was before the point of “land of the free and the home of the brave”… the song completely stopped.

Michael laughed it off and President Bush along with other supporters continued to wave their flags as if the anthem was still playing… to show their support.

So I went to YouTube to see if anyone had posted this embarrassment and sure enough one person had. It was entitled “China Messes Up National Anthem During Michael Phelps Gold Medal Ceremony.” At first I thought it was a little funny because it could be a legitimate mistake… and I probably would have just continued to feel that way.

Until this morning when I returned to YouTube. I clicked on the video (which is still in my favorites and will continue to sit there… see below) and was greeted with the message “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by a third party.” Interesting. Well now… how many geniuses does it take to figure out that it was officials or someone representing officials from China who had it removed. I don’t think it even takes a genius. YouTube rules state that certain items such as concerts or sporting events may be removed due to copyright issues… but it just seems odd because other sporting clips are still on the site. And I know it may very well be NBC who came along and removed it… however…

Yes… I was informed that we have made errors with other country’s anthems… told we put flags upside down… but this seems different somehow just because of the differences between China and America and what our anthem says and based on which part was cut off.

So far we’ve had a man killed who coincidentally was related to a former Olympian and related to a coach at the current Olympics and now they’re sending messages that having a song say “land of the free and home of the brave” is not allowed in a communist nation. I hope we demolish them with the number of medals our Olympians earn.

God bless America… land of the free and the home of the brave!!

As you can see by a screen shot of my favorites… there were 1,473 views and 34 comments. My comment was about the 5th, so I have no idea what others were saying about this video. It was published on August 9, 2008 at 8:24pm and lasted a total of 2 minutes 20 seconds. Wow… who would have thought so much could be said in so little time.

Amendment: Just went back to YouTube to look for other videos and sure enough there was one called US Anthem chopped at Beijing 2008 that has also been removed. Interesting, isn’t it.

New Amendment: Just found ONE video that hasn’t been sniped YET… probably because the title doesn’t mention anything about the anthem. Here it is… until it is removed:

REVISED: 8/12/08… guess this video has been removed as well… I’m sure the whole thing was just a bizarre accident. No really.. forget the whole thing… forget… forget… forrrrrrrrrget!!

The Day Socialism Comes to America

“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” ~ Norman Thomas – (1884-1968) six-time U.S. Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.

LINK: The day socialism comes to America

Excerpt:

But with the initiatives being proposed by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential campaign, it appears Norman Thomas was right all along. Americans will, indeed, embrace every fragment of the socialist program in the name of liberalism.

Both of the leading Democrats call for nationalized health care – for a power grab by Washington in which the federal government will seize full control of another one-seventh of the U.S. economy.

This would, of course, be the most dramatic and irreversible step toward U.S. socialism in the nation’s history.

Plotted, schemed and planned… it can not be a coincidence that both Obama and Clinton want to change our society to socialism. If you were to ask either one… confront either one… they would deny it and claim that what they want to do has nothing to do with socialism. Clearly… they are not of the democratic party… they are of the socialist party and they’re too afraid of NOT getting elected that they won’t just come out and admit it.

Thing is… after reading so much garbage off of YouTube today, it’s clear to me now that it wouldn’t matter if Obama came out and said he was a communist… people would still follow him into the darkness of oppression, without even batting an eye lash.

More:

Americans may simply be too far gone spiritually, morally and intellectually
to reject the temptations of socialism.

Socialism is antithetical to human nature, yet it has great appeal to the human mind.

People have been broken down by our educational programs… told that the country’s problems have been caused by certain groups of people. There has been no opposing side to the story… they’re made to believe that America is falling apart and that we’re evil and should be punished for crimes we have not committed or past indiscretions that have been forgiven.

America is not perfect and we’ve made some bad decisions along the way… unfortunately, those bad things are the highlights of history books and history videos shown in schools and the good things are sidelined. Children come home saying how bad America is for things they know not… things that coincidentally the teachers chopped up and purposely leave out important details (like how we give to others freely, without payment).

They come home to tell parents that the only thing Lincoln did was free slaves and that everyone opposed him (which makes all Americans out to want slaves) and that was why we had our civil war. That is only a half truth… only a small percentage of Americans owned slaves or even wanted them.

We are made out to be the villain in every history discussion and what do we expect when these children grow into adults? They are bitter and jaded and disappointed in their country and brainwashed into believing that a socialist society would save them and make all the evil go away. I recall much of this teaching even when I was a child but it’s stronger now and upsetting when I hear from my son how horrible we are.

Stop teaching our children to hate… stop teaching our children that we are the bad guys… stop now or we will fall so far into hell that there will be no return for centuries to come.

Conversations with a Liberal, Part I

My post entitled Obama – Parenting Marxist Style has not received any comments as of yet, however the comments I made on YouTube under the video has definitely stirred up some “interesting” conversations. I love copy/paste functions.

~

My first comment under this video ended with the statement that McCain will get my vote. This did not sit well with one viewer. I am assuming this person is a man just by his screen name, but who really knows these days.

ME: How many counselors will this little girl need after hearing that everything needs to change because it’s all bad? Probably in her small eyes, life is good and there are no evils or terrorist – then along comes Obama – the man hates America and there are people who want to put him in power and allow him to turn our great country into yet another socialist society that will eventually fail. McCain gets my vote!!!

HIM: Then you’re an idiot.

ME: Move to Cuba or China or Russia. It’s people like you who add comments like “you’re an idiot” showing the rest of us just how ignorant & childish you are. When people want to debate with dignity, I’m all for it… but lately, if I make a comment that someone doesn’t agree with, I am attacked and THAT is one of the reasons you will never convince me to change my mind. The media is one sided – I am not – and I will stand fast against “idiots” (to use your words) like yourself.

HIM: Dignity? You can shove dignity up your ass, because the only dignity Americans have right now is the dignity of being American, so much so that they’re too blind to see that the US needs major change. McCain says to forget about change. McCain is an ignorant douche. Obama said straight up that “America needs to stop being ignorant”. How can you not agree with that?! You’d need to be fully retarded to disagree with that statement.

ME: Thank you for proving my point. All you can do is yell and blame others for whatever situation you are currently in. There is need for change but Obama wants to change EVERYTHING and that right there will make him lose. You obviously can not have a conversation without pointing fingers and bombing me (and others I’ve noticed) with your insults and ignorance. I see no point in you continuing to waste my time with anyone who is incapable of at least having an open mind. Have a wonderful weekend!

HIM: Name me one thing that doesn’t need change. America is a shitstain on the map, and no one bothers to change that. Obama is the only one WILLING to do something about it. McCain is going to be another George Bush, and we don’t need another one of those for the next 4 years. And how was I pointing fingers? It’s you pointing the finger at me and calling me closed-minded when there is nothing to be open-minded about.

ME: You pointed your finger at me by calling me an idiot after my initial statement. It’s clear to me that you are voting for Obama and I am voting for McCain; and it is our right to do so. The difference is that I don’t call you an idiot in an attempt to bait you. I don’t desire to provoke others… I desire to have adult conversations. Where in America do you live that’s so horrible. Are you homeless or starving? Clearly you’re well enough off to have access to a computer.

HIM: Do I have to be American to give a damn? I admit, you’re a good guy with a logical mindset. What you don’t seem to realize is that majority of Americans have some stupid way of thinking that they are the best in the world and there’s no better place to live other than USA. Everyone besides Americans seem to know that America is one of the worst places to live nowadays because of what the gov. have been up to. McCain thinks just like Bush, and Bush was the one who got you into this mess. Obama, on the other hand, knows full well the way things are turning up, and knows that change is needed. He seems to be the only one who feels that America is in the worst condition of all, now that Iraq is doing so much better than they are in terms of GNP (I think that’s what it is). America is wasting money on a pointless war that has been proven to be pointless many times, but everyone believes that the war was needed? For what, to waste money? Obama feels that America is ignorant to these issues and knows that something needs to be done, not like McCain and switch over to the policies that would get him the most votes every time one of them isn;t working. Even if Obama is BS’ing, the fact that he knows what’s wrong with what once was a great nation makes him a better candidate for this election.

ME: These are responses I can respect, whether or not I agree, you show logic & are non-threatening. I disagree that all non-Americans think this is the worst place to live – if that were true people would stop moving here. McCain does think more like Bush, that is true, but he is not a conservative candidate. We have a very far left candidate and a liberal candidate. This leaves people with little choice so they vote against the one we don’t want by voting for the other. Obama doesn’t have to love everything about America & everyone knows there are things that need to be fixed. What we need is the government to be in the hands of the people & the states while the federal government does what it was created to do — protect us, not make us all identical & bail us out when we make mistakes. Obama’s plans sound socialistic in tone. I have my doubts about either candidate but they are both talking about change, Obama just has a bigger list.

Father of former Olympian killed in Beijing

The article below proclaims that Shanghai and Beijing are still safer than most cities their same size. It goes on to state that punishments for crimes against foreigners are heavier than crimes against other Chinese and that they are not allowed to own guns.

First, it obviously did not matter that this man didn’t own a gun… he was still successful in killing another human being. If someone wants to commit a crime bad enough, he will find a way even if it means pulling a spoon out of his kitchen drawer.

Second, if you really want to make a big statement in China it sounds like your biggest opportunity would be to kill a foreigner. Did this man realize these victims were American? Only an investigation will tell (and I hope they will run a full investigation and not just take the word of a few officials). Here’s a picture of their daughter (who happened to be with them at the time of attack but luckily not injured). She certainly doesn’t look to be a citizen of China, especially with the United States flag on her top.

So what was the point of this attack? Did the man know he was attacking Americans… specifically a family with ties to the Olympics? Was it random… was he plotting to bring attention to his cause (whatever that may be)?

The tower where this murder took place is called The Drum Tower and it is an ancient structure that drummers used to inform citizens of the time. Is it time for China to let their people live as they choose? Is it time for China’s secrets to come out? Is it time for the Chinese citizens to stand up and say they’re mad as hell? Or was this guy just a nut job who happened to have a knife coincidentally near American citizens who coincidentally were in China for the Olympics?

I have a hard time believing that scenario.

Obama – Dreams from My Father

4:10 into the video: “The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity – she doesn’t. But she is a typical white person who… if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know there’s a reaction in her that’s been bred into our experiences that don’t go away, and that sometimes come out in the wrong way.” Barack Obama

I would NEVER make a statement about another person and say “she’s a typical black person” or “he’s a typical mexican” or “she’s a typical Italian”. And if I did… especially using certain adjectives, I would be called a racist. I call it the way it is… if I can’t say these things without being called a racist… then that rule applies to everyone else.

Just SAY NO to Obama

Barack Obama refuses to honor our flag by NOT displaying it with pride and by keeping his hand from his heart during the national anthem. He claims that Middle America clings to their guns and to their religion. Obama is embarrassed by America… embarrassed that Americans speak English and not French or German or Spanish or… the list goes on.

This man wants a nation divided into small countries… weakened… divided… broken. He wants to create a train wreck so horrendous that we can’t help but turn to our government for aid. I can’t stand fear-mongers… but this man and those who raise him above the clouds will lead us into Socialist slavery. Slavery is illegal in our country… last time I checked.

SAY NO TO OBAMA!

House Apologizes for Slavery

I agree with apologizing to the Japanese-American’s for the time they were held in the detention camps during World War II… especially to those who had nothing to do with the war. There still needed to be some form of detention because we were suddenly at war with Japan and didn’t know who to trust. I read today that 60,000 of these detainees were alive during the time of the apology and each received $20,000 from the government. I don’t know if that was a necessary step because money, although nice to have, doesn’t really make for an apology… it seems more like a bribe to me.

Today the House of Representatives passed a resolution apologizing to African-Americans for slavery. It did not go into details about reparations but turns out that some people are asking for cash payments to descendants of slaves to compensate for the suffering caused by slavery.

Does anyone else see a difference? Slavery was abolished in the United States in 1865. There is no doubt that there were residual affects from slavery and it took time for things to straighten out and for people to accept the change. The difference is that those detained during World War II were still alive when the apology was given… those in slavery have long moved on to Heaven and I dont see how their descendents should receive money from the government. Only a very few people owned slaves (about 8%) and those were very rich… and not all slaves were black. We also had indentured servitude… the main difference was that an indentured servant was under a signed contract for a period of time in exchange for food, clothing, lodging, etc.

The catch was that most of them ended up in so much debt with their employer that they could never leave because they would have their debt forgiven in exchange for an extension on the period of the contract. This could and would go on continuously. They were subject to violence, abuse and other forms of mistreatment.

I have mixed feelings about this apology. Are we purposely going through our entire history and apologizing one by one to all of the individuals who were ever hurt by any one? I don’t know the history of all of our apologies… have we said sorry to the Chinese and the Welsh and the Irish?

And what about all of the free blacks who owned slaves? Most schools teach that white men owned black men and women but never really mention that there were slaves of other nationality and that some American Indians and free American Blacks owned slaves as well. Can we go back and demand that the descendants of those individuals come forward and apologize?

It seems to me that America is being pin-pointed as the evil slave owning jerks of the world. From the 16th to the 19th centuries, 12 million black Africans were shipped to the Americas and about 5 1/2% landed in the United States. Most were shipped to Brazil.

Maybe Brazil is the evil slave owning country of the world… perhaps they should apologize to us for letting us take all the blame.

Obama’s Socialistic Speech

I read Obama’s speech of July 24th, 2008 in Berlin. It was impressive… it was massive… and it was full of issues to please as many people as possible while slipping in small things… small sentences that meant something more individually than the speech as a whole. It was like taking a poll wherein you’re going along answering questions… and then… all of a sudden there’s a question that doesn’t have anything to do with the topic. The little red flag appears and you tear up the whole thing and toss it away… I don’t have time for trickery.

His speech was impressive… but it was full of trickery.

[I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my father grew up herding goats in Kenya. His father — my grandfather — was a cook, a domestic servant to the British. ]

Why doesn’t he look like other Americans who have spoken there before him? Because he uses the word “look”, I can only assume he literally means he doesn’t LOOK like others who have been there. So what is it about the way he looks that is so different? His height? His weight? His lack of piercings? His eyes… do his eyes somehow not look American? He has that little mole on his face… is that what he means? He wears a lot of suits… I don’t wear suits… does that make him or me look less American? What about his teeth… have you seen his teeth… man they are the most pearly white teeth I’ve seen in a long time, unless you’re talking about actors and models… is he an actor… hmmm.

Yes… he is an actor and he uses his stage to the best advantage he can. His latest stage was in Berlin where Ronald Reagan stood… and in a less threatening, less hostile environment. Ronald Reagan was a magnificent man who earned that label. Barrack Obama has not earned the right to be called magnificent. And it doesn’t matter if you put a picture of Reagan and a picture of Obama side by side… they both LOOK American; the question is… how are their actions American… how are their words heard to be a true American. Obama uses words to make him seem more enlightened and more appealing to the American public (and for some odd reason he seems to think he needs that from the German people as well). Reagan used words to change a world… and did it! Obama tosses pretty, flowery words out and hopes something he says will change some one’s mind to swing his way… hell, I felt his speech was impressive, remember. It was an ego stroker… insulting.

[This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all. ]

Can you say SOCIALISM? Obama wants us to create wealth as a whole and share it equally with everyone else so that everyone has the same amount of wealth (which can be broken down into money, homes, autos, electronics, clothing, etc.). And if Obama gets his way and everyone has the same amount of wealth (the amount would of course be dictated by the government) then you can bet he would make sure we only have those items deemed “appropriate” to own b the government. So… we would all have whatever automobiles the environmentalists want us to have… our houses would be the size deemed appropriate for the size of our families… and sooner or later (I mean… why not) we may be told what to wear.

[This is the moment when we must renew the goal of a world without nuclear weapons. The two superpowers that faced each other across the wall of this city came too close too often to destroying all we have built and all that we love. With that wall gone, we need not stand idly by and watch the further spread of the deadly atom. It is time to secure all loose nuclear materials; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to reduce the arsenals from another era. This is the moment to begin the work of seeking the peace of a world without nuclear weapons.]
and
[…Sixty years after the airlift, we are called upon again. History has led us to a new crossroad, with new promise and new peril. When you, the German people, tore down that wall — a wall that divided East and West; freedom and tyranny; fear and hope — walls came tumbling down around the world.]

Hidden within the first paragraph of wanting to rid the world of nuclear weapons, is a moment when it seems that Obama is stating that America once tried to destroy Germany as a sideline to fighting the Soviet Union… as if we would have just allowed Germany to be destroyed in order to destroy the USSR.

In the second paragraph, he proclaims that the German people tore down the wall… neglecting to mention that a once magnificent man stood in Germany and demanded that the wall be torn down… and it indeed was torn down. Again… America had a great part in this and we did not just let our “suggested” desire for power or world dominance lead to Germany’s destruction. America is a great country and being a super power is not an embarrassment nor is it a horrible, evil thing to be. We are the most giving country in the world… but if Obama and his side-kicks get control, he will lead us into a world of Socialism, where what is mine and what is yours is truly the government’s in the guise of distributing equally to all Americans regardless of ambition.

And that… sadly, but truthfully… will lead us directly into Communism where there is nothing for the people and everything for the government. We will own nothing and have nothing to give… charity will be erased from the dictionary replaced with nothing but FORCED TOLLERANCE.

… and as an after thought… how “giving and charitable” are socialist and communist governments? Do other countries truly believe that America will be MORE giving to the world if we are NOT a democracy where individuals can send their own wealth, of any size, to other countries if they so CHOOSE. We will have nothing to give as “the people of America”. We will be helpless, imprisoned and bitter… we will hoard everything we can get our hands on and we will hide in our homes and keep everything to our self, for fear of it being taken away.

Socialism and communism PRETENDS to care… democracies do.

Monopoly – Democracy to Socialism to Communism

Today my son learned about three different societies: Democracy, socialism and communism. His economics teacher had a special monopoly game planned for the class.

When they started, the society was a democracy and the game played with the normal rules. Everyone could buy, sell or trade properties, including railroads and utilities. When they passed GO, they collected $200 and could gain a bonus amount by landing on Free Parking.

My son decided to trade for a railroad so that on his next turn, he could trade it to another kid who had the other three railroads. After everyone had build up their fortunes a bit, the teacher came over and proclaimed they were now playing socialist monopoly. All railroads and utilities were taken over by the government and thus anytime anyone landed there, they paid the government. When they passed GO, they collected $150 and landing on Free Parking got them nothing.

Things continued along and my son decided to compile his money into mostly $500 dollar bills… so as not to have so much cash. After a bit, the teacher came over again and declared it to be a communist society and all properties were controlled by the government and they seized all $500 dollar bills (lol). Everyone paid the government for landing anywhere on the board. Each player collected $100 for passing GO and was allowed to remove one property that used to belong to them so as to lower payments in the future. The only people protected from owing the government any money were those in jail. How ironic.

Eventually, the teacher came over and declared that the people overthrew the government and it was now a democracy again. Everyone distributed properties but not necessarily what they had before turning communist.

End of Game.

The lesson: the teacher explained that societies often start out as democracies and over time, turn to socialism and then eventually, right into communism. He said that our society is currently somewhere between a democracy and socialism right now because the people are not completely in control but instead share the control with the government.

YouTube Communist Monopoly

My Opinion:

Our country is leaning more and more towards socialism as the government steps in and takes over different aspects of our society. They use the guise of bailing our citizens out of crisis after crisis. Often… truth be told… our government not only causes the crisis… but plots them out years in advance in order to gain more control of the people and take more away from us.

Do we really have to go through hundreds of years of these different forms of societies as my son’s teacher suggests may happen? Are we really so short sighted that we can’t see what’s happening before our very eyes? I think it could happen just because the average person (me included) doesn’t really know how one or two items can really change our society. “We’re just giving up a little bit of our freedom… just a tid bit of our rights… it’s no big deal”.

Really? No big deal to give up our rights so the government can become a looming force in our country? The government was created to protect the people… not control them. And NO… protecting me from my own mistakes is not a necessity of my government. Get out of my head, heart, home and family.

Obama Dis’s US Military Troops

Obama decides not to visit our US troops in Germany because he felt the visit would be considered a campaign event. His apparent reasons for going to visit them originally was to show his “appreciation” for our troops.

I agree fully with Brian Rogers, a spokesman for Senator John McCain who said “Barack Obama is wrong. It is never inappropriate to visit our men and women in the military.”

Why was it appropriate to visit the combat support hospital in Baghdad? What made this trip to Lundstuhl Regional Medical Center off limits? What’s up with this bull about “not” going out of respect for the servicemen and women stating it “would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign.”

Oh… and to those people who think going to visit our military troops is just a “photo-op”… shame on you. There may be some politicians out there who think like that but it’s funny how so many liberals have to say something bad… anything bad… about the Republican party, even if it contradicts what their own candidate does. If Obama WENT to see the troops, they would say he was a hero… if Obama DOES NOT go and states it would be abusing them, they would say he was a hero. Where do you stand? Is it a good idea to show respect to those who stand up and fight for your country or not? You can’t have it both ways.

I say that it’s a good idea to visit our troops, especially if you’re already there. It doesn’t matter if it’s a democrat, republican, independent, libertarian… it just doesn’t matter. If you are there and you have the clearance… you should go. If I were there and I had the ability, I would go. It’s easy to say that because more thank likely, I would not be permitted… but if I could… I would go!!
