Misinformation Spreaders aka Journalists
The Journalistic Tattletale and Censorship Industry Suffers Several Well-Deserved Blows
What do you get when you cross a Misinformation Spreader with an Internet Hall Monitor? Why a journalist, of course. A journalist no longer investigates and reports their findings; now they rummage around like rats looking for anything they can devour and barf back up. In their eyes, opinions are facts while true facts are lies.
…these journalistic hall monitors cannot abide the idea that there can be any place on the internet where people are free to speak in ways they do not approve. Like some creepy informant for a state security apparatus, they spend their days trolling the depths of chat rooms and 4Chan bulletin boards and sub-Reddit threads and private communications apps to find anyone — influential or obscure — who is saying something they believe should be forbidden, and then use the corporate megaphones they did not build and could not have built but have been handed in order to silence and destroy anyone who dissents from the orthodoxies of their corporate managers or challenges their information hegemony.
Journalists have become the ever-present tattletale of the internet and they are encouraged to do so by their employers and fellow journalists. Who, What, Where, When, and Why has been invaded by the ever popular “Whether or not you want my opinion, you’re getting it. And by the way, I’m spying on you.”
They believe it is their right and obligation to make sure everyone is behaving properly and based upon rules invented by those with questionable morals who do not follow their own rules. I know that sounds like the description of a politician but the two are closely related these days.
Side note: Have you noticed that everyone who agrees with the new journalist mantra and has a platform of their own, believes they are journalists themselves even if they are not employed to be one? Many of us have blogs and post opinions about a multitude of subjects but we don’t wear a name tag with Journalist engraved in gold. People literally think they are someone special because they have a Twitter account. No dear, that just means you have internet access like millions of others in countries across the globe. You are not special.
A recent Guardian article warned that podcasts was one remaining area still insufficiently policed. ProPublica on Sunday did the same about Apple, and last month one of its reporters appeared on MSNBC to demand that Apple censor its podcast content as aggressively as Google’s YouTube now censors its video content.
They have unsuccessfully gone after radio for decades so have instead set their sights on podcasts. Journalists, aka misinformation spreading internet hall monitors, want to stalk anyone and everyone into whatever place they might want to exercise their freedom of speech. It doesn’t matter if people are talking about socks or WWI, they have to make sure they are only saying what is allowed.
Thus do we have the unimaginably warped dynamic in which U.S. journalists are not the defenders of free speech values but the primary crusaders to destroy them. They do it in part for power: to ensure nobody but they can control the flow of information. They do it partly for ideology and out of hubris: the belief that their worldview is so indisputably right that all dissent is inherently dangerous “disinformation.” And they do it from petty vindictiveness: they clearly get aroused — find otherwise-elusive purpose — by destroying people’s reputations and lives, no matter how powerless. Whatever the motive, corporate media employees whose company title is “journalist” are the primary activists against a free and open internet and the core values of free thought.
Journalist no longer do anything close to what was taught in my high school journalism class. Based on what is hitting the market, it appears schools are now teaching students that they are the righteous ones and the protectors of the universe. Seems a bit far-fetched but honestly, what other explanation is there?
Unfortunately, journalist today have no desire to protect freedom of speech unless it involves the media. They believe freedom of speech only involves the press and to hell with the average citizen. They want to be the only word and have the ultimate power over what we know and believe.
Anyone who goes into the business for the intent of being a real journalist, is quickly turned into a snake. If this indoctrination cannot be achieved, they soon find themselves humiliated and out of work. There are some newscasters on TV who appear to be real reporters but due to the existence of hundreds of ways to gather information, if they leave anything out, we know about it and that exposes them or their employers as frauds.
I agree whole-heartedly that many journalists today are working to eliminate free speech from non-journalists and that they are more often than not, the ones who are pushing misinformation. Their twisted ideals warped with their ability to publish through news sources gives them an advantage.
Here’s the thing that’s important to remember and one of the reasons we are in the place we are in today. Journalists and their employers cannot abide that we, the average non-media-schooled citizen, are able to publish our thoughts on the internet side-by-side with them.
For instance, I am reviewing the above linked article and writing my thoughts about it and then, gasp, posting my thoughts on a multi-author website found on the internet. This is truly unacceptable to them and, if I were to get noticed for my writing, they would have a fit and do everything in their power to make an example of me in a negative light.
It is intolerable to them that I also have my own website where I can post other articles or that I can submit things here and there and everywhere. What’s even worse is that I can use different pen names and different usernames and be anonymous if that’s what I wish. They don’t like that because then they can’t bully me into submission or offer me up as a sacrifice to the world for public ridicule.
Something else to think about.
Are journalists truly upset that people are exercising their freedom of speech? Are they concerned that bad things will happen? Are they legitimately worried the American public will for trickery and shenanigans?
I believe some people, primarily politicians and their financial backers, are pretending to be concerned. These wannabe dictators realize deep down that the build-up to removing American freedoms has nothing to do with a Trump presidency. They are simply using it as a convenient excuse to speed up their push for dominancy, a plan that has been in the works for decades.
Thus, I’m back to my questions. Are the journalists actually concerned for us or are they worried for their small, insignificant carriers? You see, without Trump they have no purpose. What on earth will they report on now that Trump is gone? That is specifically why journalists are going after Trump supporters and eventually anyone who may have voted for or thought about voting for him. He made some of them very famous and they want to stay that way. If Trump is going away, they must find others to condemn. I heard a little something today about Trump Derangement Syndrome; now it’s Trump Derangement Withdrawals (TDW) and the media is fully into the shakes and quakes without their daily Trump injections.
