Excerpt from Glenn’s interview:
VOIGHT: You know something, I’ve been kind of I haven’t been as aggressive perhaps as I should have been in regard to this, you know, intimidation because it is a very pernicious act and it seems like one of the reasons why I wrote the article was because nobody knows about Michelle Obama. The people who are supporting him and cheering him, you know. If you ask them why they are voting for him, you don’t get very, you know, very substantive answers.
GLENN: Yeah.
VOIGHT: You get, well, he’s a nice looking fellow, I like the way he talks, he’s I like change, I want change. They have no idea what the change is that this fellow is going to usher in.
GLENN: Right.
VOIGHT: And he helps them. Obama helps these people by saying very vague things. Nothing that they can put their finger on. He says things like, he said during one of his speeches he said I don’t want you to just believe in me. I want you to believe in your own dreams. Well, what does that mean? It means, of course, that I’m anything you want me to be. But on the other side there’s an agenda that he has that is very clear and it’s and if you look into his background, you can see very clearly the agenda. And as you mentioned, when I say socialism, all those things you mentioned are part of the package, of course, if Obama becomes President. So they are trying to keep away from any understanding of what he’s going to do. And the way they do it is by cutting any kind of inquiry off with this kind of intimidation. So it’s a real you know, it’s a really very disturbing package that we’re looking at here.
GLENN: Jon, you were if I’m not mistaken, weren’t you an antiwar activist back in the Sixties?
VOIGHT: I was. I was caught up in that movement as most people were.
GLENN: Sure.
VOIGHT: And probably because of that, I see a little bit more clearly now what’s going on.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.
After reading Mr. Voight’s article, I had to create an account on The Washington Times in order to comment. My comment to him is below (although, I don’t know how much time he has to actually read all that is there or will be there after Glenn’s interview).

I too must thank you for this article. Discussions of Obama often bring up socialism… whether it be on-line, at home or on the streets. For the most part, I think a lot of people don’t understand socialism and often think it will be an answer to their problems… an easy out, if you will. Just look at all of the things they won’t have to worry about any more… but just look at all of the things they won’t have any more. Not necessarily physical or monetary things… but freedom to be what you want without first having to get permission.I read comments wherein people think there’s no way Obama is leading us to socialism… but if they took the time to look at the definition and study Marxism, they would indeed see a very strong similarity. Socialism leads into communism… a little at a time until eventually you find you’re right in the middle of a place without any freedoms… until one day people rise up to take down the government and turn to capitalism.
We are the United States of America… once you have a taste and a feel of freedom, it’s hard to give it up. But if we do not teach our children and our young adults the difference between what they have now and what they won’t have later… we will fall into this horrible place called socialism. Truly, we have become a society that takes much for granted and we cry for more when we have so much.
I read people’s comments on-line every day about how horrible it is in America and how we’re falling apart. I asked one person just how bad he had it since he clearly had a computer in which to make his opinion known… but even computers seem to be like owning a toothbrush… it just IS.

I have been met with much anger by liberals (whether or not they call themselves that) who come up against my thoughts. I am called an idiot or other such “nice names” and then… if I’m lucky… after hearing that I’m not going to lash back at them, it calms down a bit… until the next outburst. Truly, this does come more from the younger generation than the older generation. I think it is based on how easily a person can be swayed to the point of view of another when the alternative is to be an outcast. If Jane thinks Bob is a moron for thinking one way and if she makes a big enough stir with the crowd, eventually Bob will fall to her way of thinking just to be in favor of the crowd. Don’t get me wrong… I am not pointing fingers at others without first experiencing those same events.
My son has brought home many issues from school either from the teacher or the other students and we’ve almost bordered on arguing just because he felt so passionate about an issue. As his parents, we do not disallow such passion but we won’t roll over just to agree with his thoughts. We have learned to discuss things logically and as adults without getting mad at each other. We still get frustrated from time to time but here’s what usually happens. He has one point of view and we have another. The difference is that we also have knowledge of his point of view before we talk about it because we have an open mind and try to learn as much as we can. He on the other hand has only heard one point of view from the school and that is it until we begin our discussion. He has learned to talk to us to gather more information and then decide for himself… I do not insist he takes my side but I do insist he gets the WHOLE story.
My issue is this… the teachers push their ideas on the students without giving them the WHOLE book of information. It would be like reading a novel with only the “even” numbered chapters. You might be able to get the idea of the story but you won’t really know what happened. Then, when you discuss the story with someone who only had the “odd” numbered chapters, it’s no wonder an argument flares and both parties are standing there screaming that they know how the story goes… THEY DO know the story… based on the knowledge they have; and both only have half a story.
The best thing to do is for both parties to pool their chapters together to form the ENTIRE STORY… once that is done, the answers are obvious. Unfortunately, so many of us don’t realize we only have half a story and insist we know everything. I’m beginning to think that some people are burning certain chapters to keep people in the dark.
