I happened to be out and about today and the store I was visiting was next to the local military recruiting office. They were closed of course, since it’s the 4th, and on their door was a flyer for Operation America Rising (broken link).
“Operation America Rising” Will take place on 7-7-07 all over America. On that momentous day, there will be prominent speakers and entertainers. Children and adults will be gathered together saluting America’s finest. This national salute to our troops will be a gleaming observance of America’s patriotism. People of all ages will show our troops that we are behind them. You can donate to this wonderful event on this site by volunteering or contributing.
This was the first time I had heard about this. Mind you, I don’t watch tv much and my only news is from on-line or the radio. I do hear about things each day, but this one escaped my knowledge. Am I just out of touch or has it truly NOT seen much news coverage?
I looked up my state and sure enough we’re having a big rally in down town. It’s not actually at the capital but it’s at the Veterans Memorial Park. Some of the states don’t seem to be participting while others don’t seem to have much information listed.
Will this really be as big as they hope? I plan on going… at this point. I must because I feel that my voice is just a whisper that isn’t heard much at all. In order to say “this is what I feel”, I must speak louder and go where others go to make myself heard.
