Most of the No Kings protestors are the same people who loved protests and rallies 55 years ago. They are the flower children of the 60s and the protestors of the 70s. They are living their glory days.
Most of them are over 65; and how do they look? They look happy and excited to, once again, beat back Goliath by waiving signs and marching around together in the streets.
They’re dancing and cheering. They’re singing ridiculous songs that are reminiscent of kumbaya. They’re rocking back and forth as if in a trance or doing disco dance steps they barely remember.

This is their second chance, a visit to the past, and a way to say they did what they could to tell the government they’re not accepting whatever the government is doing. Most don’t even know what that is.
None of them remember World War II because they were born out of the return of soldiers from that war. They protested Vietnam rather than fight for our country. They protested anything the government did that defended their right to complain about it later.
I would be dishonest in saying every person there was over 60 years old, but a huge percentage are just that; in their late 60s on up to probably even 80 years old. That means they are Baby Boomers (as of this date) and that means they are exactly what I said, born to protest.
Now, there were some clearly in their 50s as well which would be Gen X. I hear some call others Boomer even when the person is over 40 because it’s an indication that the person is “old” in their eyes. Age does not a Boomer make. When they were born is what counts.
In interviews, people say they’re defending democracy or standing up to tyranny or making sure we don’t end up with a king. I wonder how many of them love England’s king vs think he’s an evil monarch.
Looking up what No Kings refers to, the internet says is a series of protests against President Donald Trump’s policies with the idea that America should not be a monarchy and power belongs to the people.
We are not a monarchy and we still vote our leaders into office so what’s the issue! Do these people literally think the millions of people who voted for Trump are just a phantom?
I don’t care if people protest and as far as I can tell, none of it erupted into violence like the summer of 2020 or after certain high-profile sporting events or concerts. They weren’t antifa or blm or any number of groups with protests that turn into violence and riots.
I’ve heard many commentators, news reporters or random people say this protest is ridiculous and just filled with a bunch of old people looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon.
Actually, I’m one of those people. But I haven’t heard anyone say what I feel and that’s the fact these people are reliving the past and having a good time doing it.

I’ve been to a couple protests myself and, at no point, did anyone break out into dance, start singing together like children, or act like it was a party. We weren’t walking around angry or crying but we had a reason to be there that was purposeful. One was protesting the government and one was protesting an employer forcing employees to get the Covid shot and wear masks even when working at home.
Obviously, many of these people felt that this protest was meaningful but without the turnout of different generations of people, protests against the government aren’t impactful. You need people from each generation to come out and today that means the Silent Generation (1928-1945), Baby Boomers (1946-1964), Gen X (1965)-1980), Millennials (1981-1996), and Gen Z (1997-2012).
These are the voters and they weren’t fully represented.
